[ Lorraine Simons ] Lorraine was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Her Grandmother was an artist and needlework expert that inspired her to learn all she could about design.

Lorraine was creating her own art and needlework designs at a young age, and received an award for most promising young artist, along with many other awards in local fairs.

Art Education

Although mostly self taught, Lorraine took an Acrylic class in the 1970's and a Watercolor class while in college. Some of her Needlework designs have been published by JanLynn. Most recently she has had a wearable art necklace published in the 2006-2007 Fire Mountain Catalog.

While Lorraine started in Acrylics, she is interested in Watercolors, Pen and Ink, and Pencil as well. She has studied Medical and Scientific Illustration under Marco Mikulich. She would also like to learn all she could about the glass arts, and loves the paper and fiber arts.

Lorraine is a member of the Cottage Grove Art Guild. Some of her designs can be seen on her web page Hands to Work, Hearts to God.
