Jan McLaughlin works in a variety of media, concentrating on water colors and oils. She brings a keen sense of design and color to her paintings which give them a dynamic vigor and evoke a strong emotive response. Jan states, "My joy is painting landscapes. The most successful are those which capture an "awe" moment in nature". Her passion is work that stirs up a dialogue about social issues. She likes to mix up the media such as a live performance piece, slides of her work incorporated with a choral reading.
