Cottage Grove Art Guild
657 North 9th Street
Cottage Grove, OR 97424

The Cottage Grove Art Guild, a non-profit organization, has been established to foster the growth of art among interested people in and around the Cottage Grove and outlying area, to provide an atmosphere of interest and encouragement to all who wish to venture into the arts, at any level, and to attempt, through art shows, educational programs, and other endeavors to bring about the public awareness and recognition of this organization and its members. The guild includes, encourages, and supports many types of arts, from painters, dancers, thespians, writers, weavers, photographers, jewelry makers, basket weavers, glass workers, metal workers, fabric artists, potters, clay and ceramic artisans, etc.

The guild's goal is to be a vehicle for all artisans to share information, talents, workshops, demonstrations, as well as offer places to show and sell works. Our members range from 14 to 92 years of age.  It is not necessary to be an artist or artisan to be a member of the guild. Our members also include non-artists, shop owners, friends and family members who want to support the group as well as help out with different activities such as art shows, receptions, and committees.

At present, the guild has several areas to show members' works: The Main Street Art Gallery, showing juried professional works and include over 13 downtown shops who all make up the Main Street Gallery, the Cottage Grove Hospital continuing juried show, as well as park and sidewalk art shows. Our gracious merchants also host Art Walks for any artist who wishes to participate.

Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at Sujo's (Sue Tryk) at 657 North 9th Street (next to Dave's Corner Market). Meeting starts at 6 pm. More information at 942-8913. Dues are from $15 to $25 ($10 for web space).
